Well, well, well, Retribution, finally! For all the tears our innocent Anwesha had to shed due to public's irresponsible voting, she has been vindicated once they decided to vote based on talent! I had said a long time ago on this blog that if Prakriti comes in scary land even once, she will be eliminated, and I am sure that's exactly what happened. Here' what transpired this time.. Anwesha highest votes, Aish second highest. Vyom, Soniya and Prakriti in scary land. Prakriti had to go, everyone else was too good. She should have been eliminated even before Areeb!

@Kalyani, Colorful language? Against you? You must be crazy to even think of that! Yes, I did read the post by Rishi. Isn't it sad to see what price these kids pay to become famous. Isn't he all of 18 years of age!! God bless his family who is always with him, through his happiness and his sorrows. I love the camaraderie they have as a tightly knit unit. They are a glowing tribute to what has made our country a force to reckon with. Our middle class and the value system it has! Neel, No, it was a hypothetical order. Even Aish could have been in the bottom three and Sonya or Vyom in fairy land. Neel, I don't have to watch the links to answer your question, although its still mystery to me where the links are :) Maybe you just wanted me to search in Google using the keywords you gave me . However, I did go and search in Youtube and watched the videos as you had instructed. Here're my thoughts.. 1. I have said that many a times before and I'll reiterate - I don't think anyone in the recent past has impressed me as much as Anwesha. She has all the qualities of a GREAT singer. She's a very good student of music, listens to the right kind of songs (which BTW are all very difficult songs) that suit her style of singing, reproduces the songs very accurately, adds her own little nuances to the songs, appropriately, and has a unique characteristic of voice modulation too! Abhilasha, even though she was really talented and had a sweet voice, fails on almost all the fronts Anwesha scores on. It can be argued that she has better voice quality than Anwesha's but then, Anwesha is 4 years younger and her voice will be a powerhouse by the time she reaches 17! 2. Its funny you picked the Chhup Chhup ke song for comparison. Its one of my favorites in recent times!! In my opinion, the original song is characterized by some phenomenal vocals by Sonu. Mahalaxmi Iyer pales in comparison. Abhas was immersed in the song when he sang it (He's a phenom anyways) Vyom was circumspect and that's why the overall appeal of that songs comes across as 'weak' when compared to Abhas and Abhilasha's. Let's see if we can find a common song between Abhilasha and Anwesha and then maybe we can compare one-on-one. Hopefully, I answered your question..

I believe this blog more than any other source but this is totally conflicting. 1. It says Soniya is eliminated and 2. It states that Anwesha was in scary land, again!
Thank god! I can sleep peacefully now! Even on the blog I got it from, there were 2 sets of news. One of them mentioned Prakriti, the other mentioned Soniya. I don't believe those morons anyways.
Another piece of information , people may like to know is that the contestants know who is in scary land or eliminated the day before, well in advance and this drama of red light and white light is all for the viewers. Even in the previous show (VOI), it was known in the morning of the shoot itself and then contestants had to act as if he/she just came to know about this. If you guys remember when last time Anwesha was in scaryland her face was already swollen up [prob,she was crying, coming in scary land again???or fell sick crying??] The kids are told a day before so that they can recover and perform during the shoot and brush up their non existing acting skills...poor mites...!!!
So, the test for u guys is to watch the show closely to find out who's coming in scary land,observation skills, my dear watson...!!!
Just for example, someone had posted on India Forum about Prakriti's elimination on Monday itself. How that could have been possible when the shoot was held on tuesday. I telephoned my source in Star Plus and he told me on Tuesday (15:00 IST) that shoot is underway. Again at about 18:00 IST he told me that the shoot is in last stages, and finally informed at about 19:05 IST about Prakriti's elimination.
The news appearing on a forum on Monday itself proves my point.
You all might have also witnessed the confidence of Ishmeet in the last two / three episodes which was a clear transformation from a shy guy to a bold and confident guy just overnight. Even Alka Yagnik had to say- "Look at Ishmeet, iski to jubaan hi nahi khulti thi aur ab dekho"

Logically, any such promo with Anwesha in it will NOT make any sense cause they only know who's gonna get eliminated 3 days before the episode is aired. Its all an editing job. GajJi knows who amongst the contestants holds the pulse of the audience and he did a fine editing job to make it appear that Anwesha is one of the eliminated contestant! Think about it, this little girl's phenomenal talent coupled with her constantly being in scary land has made some serious news with blogs buzzing about it, people talking about it in India, groups supporting her etc.
Kalyani, What I was saying is that if the news of Prakriti or Soniya's elimination is correct, that promo you saw has to be doctored! Correct? Agreed that logic does not work for GajJi but how can he have a footage showing Anwesha as eliminated unless its has already happened! Think about it!
Prakriti Giri has been eliminated from Amul Star Voice of India-Chhote Ustaad, the musical reality show currently being aired on STAR Plus.
It was hoped that this 12-year-old girl from Darjeeling would follow the footsteps of Indian Idol 3 winner Prashant Tamang as she continued her steady climb in the show, making it to the top five. But unlike Prashant, Prakriti failed to grab enough votes from the audience which would have saved her from the elimination round.
The elimination episode is yet to be telecast and will be aired this Friday. The episode was canned late last night.
Although liked by the judges, Prakriti faced tough opponents in the form of Aishwarya from Ahmedabad and Anvesha Dutta from Kolkata. In all the voting episodes, Prakriti managed to secure enough votes to stay in the race. She also made a record of sorts by securing the highest number of votes in all the episodes. However, last week, Aishwarya beat her to the top spot with the highest number of votes.
Last week, she sang “Salamey Ishq” from the film Mukadar ka Sikandar, which was not up to the judges’ liking. In comparison to the more talented and better trained singers like Aishwarya and Anvesha, Prakriti’s performance lacked technical finesse and voice quality. Even the judges remarked that she had to really work hard if she wanted to stay in the competition and match up with the other remaining four contestants.
One of the family members of Prakiti, who is presently in Mumbai said over the telephone that she was eliminated after coming in the scary land (danger zone). According to the rules of the show, the elimination is not solely based on the number of votes polled by the contestants. The judges also play a vital part in deciding who gets out.
The news might have disheartened many Prakriti Giri Fan clubs all over the country, but there is sill one last chance for them to bring her back in the competition through wild card, which is recently being introduced in the contest.
According to this format, the eight eliminated contestants, including Prakriti, will be given a final chance to perform and based on the maximum votes polled, only one contestant out of the eight will get the wild card entry

This show is different, well atleast I thought it WAS different. You just made it into a gimmicky, manipulative act again. I respected you, until today. Not sure if I have any respect left for you more than I have for the private bus owners who run trips from Delhi to neighboring towns. They get people on their vehicle by claiming that it would be the last passenger that they would take and never go anywhere till all the tickets are sold! I hated them, detested them and stopped riding those buses even though they were the only method of transportation available. Don't make me do the same to Star Voice of India.

Now for the full news. Gajii has been clearly told by Star Plus that he is not needed. He will not be given anymore shows as of now. Later anyone can change, thats also a fact .finally this is the entertainment industry.
VOI after this kids show will halt. As of now there's no plans to start the show again. But whatever Star has decided no way it will be done by Gajji.
There ends finally his journey with VOI. And I have a feeling this also ends his carreer as musical show producer.

I really doubt whether they will eliminate prakriti. what will happen to all those votes SVOI was getting till this time. also when they are going to introduce a challenger, it may be no elimination week.

For wild card till date the sponsor has given an excuse that, some of the good particpant has been eliminated due to wrong voting. what excuse they will give time, as the final decision in each case was done by the judges. I think except gitashree all the eliminations were justified or in order.

Better known for his ever smiling, sweet face and cool composure, Areeb after giving some scintillating performances got eliminated from the reality show recently.
Telly Buzz caught up with Areeb for a tête-à -tête to know about his journey in Chhote Ustaad and also about the upcoming fight for Wild Card entry...
How did it feel when you learnt you were going to be eliminated?
I was a little sad when I got eliminated because I never expected it. But then it is a competition and there is only one winner. But the consoling fact was that I was eliminated because the judges felt that I made mistakes and deserved to be out. So I was fine with it.
How was your experience being a participant on Chhote Ustaad?
It was a great experience. I got to learn so much out here from the judges and the Gurus who train us. I have a great camaraderie with the other participants and had great fun together.
Now you have an opportunity to get back into the competition through wild card, what do you think are your chances of winning the wild card entry?
Well there are quite a few good singers other than me. My chances of winning the wild card are very slim right now, but if the decision is going to be made by the judges then I would say I have 50 percent chances of winning.
Who, according to you, has the strongest chances of winning the wild card?
According to me, Jayant is the strongest contender for the wild card. He is a very good singer and everyone was shocked when he was eliminated, so I think he has highest chance of winning.
There is a new challenger who has been introduced in Chhote Ustaad, so who do you think is more of a competition to you when you come back after wild card round, the present participants or the challenger?
I would say the present contestants, because they’ll have a two week lead over me in the competition, so they would have had more experience and practice than me.
And who has been your toughest competitor so far?
Umm… My toughest competitors would have to be Anvesha and Aishwarya. They have different and very powerful voices and are amazing singers.
And who has the highest chances of winning Chhote Ustaad?

If the news of Star ending the popular Voice of India is true, I am really really sad. Whatever it was, even with its thousand shortcomings, it was still a gem of a show. It gave us Abhaas and Anwesha, gave us Irfaan and Toshi and Abhilasha, it introduced us to Aishwarya. It just defies common business sense to boot out someone as respected as Gajjendra Singhh. On that note, there's a lot that defies common sense, business or otherwise. Its a sad, sad day for me! @Kalyani, Damn you woman :) to break such a depressing news, early in the morning
Rishi, Amen to Areeb's comment about Anwesha. If GajJi makes her win the show or let me rephrase it. If GajJi can remove hurdles that he creates himself to facilitate Anwesha's victory, I will be extremely happy to know that GajJi's swansong was made memorable by her win!

Whoever we hope to bring back into the competition as wildcard entry, the fact of the matter remains that it will be Prakriti! And this time she will come in to stay. Typically, as in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the choice is handed over to voters after the wildcard round. Prakriti will be untouchable thanks to the deluge of votes she will receive.

Bhappi da, What a waste! He is a joke. He needs to take those shades off and see the world in bright light. He used to be a good musician before the 'Diiisco' bug hit him. He was related to Kishore Da from his mom side which must've helped him early on in his career. In the last Sr SaReGaMaPa, his shameless support of Mouli, the 'hype of the century' singer was just abominable. I dunno if you remember but he also came down hard on good singers in the first edition of little champs, especially Abrokanti.

Seems like the song is totally representative of her state in Chhote Ustaad! @Amit, I am addicted to her singing too. I listen to 'Is mod say', 'Hum dil de chuke' and now 'Mausam ki adla badli' My contention is that she matched Lata ji in ' Is mod say' and surpassed Gayatri and Kavitha in the other two songs. (BTW, I am a huge fan of Kavitha K as well as Lata ji (duh!) so I know what I am talking of! :)

thats the greatness of anwesha singing. till now, apart from ami je tomar, i did not hear any bengali accent. its really tough to get rid of bengali accent.

I admire ur feelings towards anwesha. but i have some personal reservation in the matter.
I wont say anything abt lata, she is beyond any remarks/ comparison. But kavitha has made a certain position for herself in bollywood music over the years. and anwesha has long way to go. We all know she has got gr8 potential. and given proper chance, she can become one of the greatest assets of Hindi film industry. but its a long way to go for her.
I dont consider gayatri as gr8 singer. anwesha has outclassed her. Honestly speaking I did not hear that song earlier. I was worried a bit that whether geetasri elimination episode is going to be repeated again. but anwesha has sang the song so nicely that all my fear vanishes

I was just watching a feature on Prakriti. The people of Darjeeling have so much expectations from that innocent girl. The whole of Darjeeling is supporting her. Afer seeing the feature i am quite sure now that judges have axed her, because her vote power was enough to keep her away from Scary land. So prakriti fails to become Prashant Tamang-II.

For all the tears our innocent Anwesha had to shed due to public's irresponsible voting, she has been vindicated once they decided to vote based on talent!
I had said a long time ago on this blog that if Prakriti comes in scary land even once, she will be eliminated, and I am sure that's exactly what happened.
Here' what transpired this time..
Anwesha highest votes, Aish second highest. Vyom, Soniya and Prakriti in scary land. Prakriti had to go, everyone else was too good. She should have been eliminated even before Areeb!

However, I did go and search in Youtube and watched the videos as you had instructed. Here're my thoughts..
1. I have said that many a times before and I'll reiterate - I don't think anyone in the recent past has impressed me as much as Anwesha. She has all the qualities of a GREAT singer. She's a very good student of music, listens to the right kind of songs (which BTW are all very difficult songs) that suit her style of singing, reproduces the songs very accurately, adds her own little nuances to the songs, appropriately, and has a unique characteristic of voice modulation too!
Abhilasha, even though she was really talented and had a sweet voice, fails on almost all the fronts Anwesha scores on.
It can be argued that she has better voice quality than Anwesha's but then, Anwesha is 4 years younger and her voice will be a powerhouse by the time she reaches 17!
2. Its funny you picked the Chhup Chhup ke song for comparison. Its one of my favorites in recent times!!
In my opinion, the original song is characterized by some phenomenal vocals by Sonu. Mahalaxmi Iyer pales in comparison.
Abhas was immersed in the song when he sang it (He's a phenom anyways) Vyom was circumspect and that's why the overall appeal of that songs comes across as 'weak' when compared to Abhas and Abhilasha's.
Let's see if we can find a common song between Abhilasha and Anwesha and then maybe we can compare one-on-one.

Another piece of information , people may like to know is that the contestants know who is in scary land or eliminated the day before, well in advance and this drama of red light and white light is all for the viewers. Even in the previous show (VOI), it was known in the morning of the shoot itself and then contestants had to act as if he/she just came to know about this. If you guys remember when last time Anwesha was in scaryland her face was already swollen up [prob,she was crying, coming in scary land again???or fell sick crying??] The kids are told a day before so that they can recover and perform during the shoot and brush up their non existing acting skills...poor mites...!!!
So, the test for u guys is to watch the show closely to find out who's coming in scary land,observation skills, my dear watson...!!!
Just for example, someone had posted on India Forum about Prakriti's elimination on Monday itself. How that could have been possible when the shoot was held on tuesday. I telephoned my source in Star Plus and he told me on Tuesday (15:00 IST) that shoot is underway. Again at about 18:00 IST he told me that the shoot is in last stages, and finally informed at about 19:05 IST about Prakriti's elimination.
The news appearing on a forum on Monday itself proves my point.
You all might have also witnessed the confidence of Ishmeet in the last two / three episodes which was a clear transformation from a shy guy to a bold and confident guy just overnight. Even Alka Yagnik had to say- "Look at Ishmeet, iski to jubaan hi nahi khulti thi aur ab dekho"

Logically, any such promo with Anwesha in it will NOT make any sense cause they only know who's gonna get eliminated 3 days before the episode is aired.
Its all an editing job. GajJi knows who amongst the contestants holds the pulse of the audience and he did a fine editing job to make it appear that Anwesha is one of the eliminated contestant!
Think about it, this little girl's phenomenal talent coupled with her constantly being in scary land has made some serious news with blogs buzzing about it, people talking about it in India, groups supporting her etc.

PRAKRITI'S DREAM RUN COMES TO AN END
Prakriti Giri has been eliminated from Amul Star Voice of India-Chhote Ustaad, the musical reality show currently being aired on STAR Plus.
It was hoped that this 12-year-old girl from Darjeeling would follow the footsteps of Indian Idol 3 winner Prashant Tamang as she continued her steady climb in the show, making it to the top five. But unlike Prashant, Prakriti failed to grab enough votes from the audience which would have saved her from the elimination round.
The elimination episode is yet to be telecast and will be aired this Friday. The episode was canned late last night.
Although liked by the judges, Prakriti faced tough opponents in the form of Aishwarya from Ahmedabad and Anvesha Dutta from Kolkata. In all the voting episodes, Prakriti managed to secure enough votes to stay in the race. She also made a record of sorts by securing the highest number of votes in all the episodes. However, last week, Aishwarya beat her to the top spot with the highest number of votes.
Last week, she sang “Salamey Ishq” from the film Mukadar ka Sikandar, which was not up to the judges’ liking. In comparison to the more talented and better trained singers like Aishwarya and Anvesha, Prakriti’s performance lacked technical finesse and voice quality. Even the judges remarked that she had to really work hard if she wanted to stay in the competition and match up with the other remaining four contestants.
One of the family members of Prakiti, who is presently in Mumbai said over the telephone that she was eliminated after coming in the scary land (danger zone). According to the rules of the show, the elimination is not solely based on the number of votes polled by the contestants. The judges also play a vital part in deciding who gets out.
The news might have disheartened many Prakriti Giri Fan clubs all over the country, but there is sill one last chance for them to bring her back in the competition through wild card, which is recently being introduced in the contest.
According to this format, the eight eliminated contestants, including Prakriti, will be given a final chance to perform and based on the maximum votes polled, only one contestant out of the eight will get the wild card entry

They get people on their vehicle by claiming that it would be the last passenger that they would take and never go anywhere till all the tickets are sold!

VOI after this kids show will halt. As of now there's no plans to start the show again. But whatever Star has decided no way it will be done by Gajji.
There ends finally his journey with VOI. And I have a feeling this also ends his carreer as musical show producer.

I really doubt whether they will eliminate prakriti. what will happen to all those votes SVOI was getting till this time. also when they are going to introduce a challenger, it may be no elimination week.
If prakriti is eliminated this week, then we will left out with 4.

For wild card till date the sponsor has given an excuse that, some of the good particpant has been eliminated due to wrong voting. what excuse they will give time, as the final decision in each case was done by the judges. I was a little sad when I got eliminated because I never expected it. But then it is a competition and there is only one winner. But the consoling fact was that I was eliminated because the judges felt that I made mistakes and deserved to be out. So I was fine with it.
How was your experience being a participant on Chhote Ustaad?
It was a great experience. I got to learn so much out here from the judges and the Gurus who train us. I have a great camaraderie with the other participants and had great fun together.
Now you have an opportunity to get back into the competition through wild card, what do you think are your chances of winning the wild card entry?
Well there are quite a few good singers other than me. My chances of winning the wild card are very slim right now, but if the decision is going to be made by the judges then I would say I have 50 percent chances of winning.
Who, according to you, has the strongest chances of winning the wild card?
According to me, Jayant is the strongest contender for the wild card. He is a very good singer and everyone was shocked when he was eliminated, so I think he has highest chance of winning.
There is a new challenger who has been introduced in Chhote Ustaad, so who do you think is more of a competition to you when you come back after wild card round, the present participants or the challenger?
I would say the present contestants, because they’ll have a two week lead over me in the competition, so they would have had more experience and practice than me.
And who has been your toughest competitor so far?
Umm… My toughest competitors would have to be Anvesha and Aishwarya. They have different and very powerful voices and are amazing singers.
And who has the highest chances of winning Chhote Ustaad?
Anvesha.

If the news of Star ending the popular Voice of India is true, I am really really sad.
Whatever it was, even with its thousand shortcomings, it was still a gem of a show. It gave us Abhaas and Anwesha, gave us Irfaan and Toshi and Abhilasha, it introduced us to Aishwarya.
It just defies common business sense to boot out someone as respected as Gajjendra Singhh.
On that note, there's a lot that defies common sense, business or otherwise.
Its a sad, sad day for me!

keeping in mind jayant/abeer/mansi/others performances
will gaj play the sms card[prakriti],the sympathy card[jayant] or the talent card[areeb]..and select the wild card entry.....lets wait till the drama unfolds...!!!
Whoever we hope to bring back into the competition as wildcard entry, the fact of the matter remains that it will be Prakriti!
And this time she will come in to stay. No one will be able to eliminate her because her faithful vote bank will receive much needed wake up call and will vote her to victory.

No, I have no idea if the judges will be a part of the selection or elimination. Typically, as in Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, the choice is handed over to voters after the wildcard round.
Prakriti will be untouchable thanks to the deluge of votes she will receive.
lets wait and watch ki kal raat ko kya hoga...wen will they announce the wild card??...will it b immediately after the challenger selection, or will they eliminate a couple of kids more b4 they go in for wild card...!!!??
gosh...hope gaj doesnt get more confused with his ideas...and screw up the show more than what it is undergoing/will go...!!!

He was related to Kishore Da from his mom side which must've helped him early on in his career.
In the last Sr SaReGaMaPa, his shameless support of Mouli, the 'hype of the century' singer was just abominable.
I dunno if you remember but he also came down hard on good singers in the first edition of little champs, especially Abrokanti.

I am addicted to her singing too. I listen to 'Is mod say', 'Hum dil de chuke' and now 'Mausam ki adla badli'
My contention is that she matched Lata ji in ' Is mod say' and surpassed Gayatri and Kavitha in the other two songs.
(BTW, I am a huge fan of Kavitha K as well as Lata ji (duh!) so I know what I am talking of!

thats the greatness of anwesha singing. till now, apart from ami je tomar, i did not hear any bengali accent. its really tough to get rid of bengali accent.
i know u watch saregamapa also. just think of anamika singing (lots of problem in accent). sonu has pointed out this problem quite often.

I admire ur feelings towards anwesha. but i have some personal reservation in the matter.
I wont say anything abt lata, she is beyond any remarks/ comparison. But kavitha has made a certain position for herself in bollywood music over the years. and anwesha has long way to go. We all know she has got gr8 potential. and given proper chance, she can become one of the greatest assets of Hindi film industry. but its a long way to go for her.
I dont consider gayatri as gr8 singer. anwesha has outclassed her. Honestly speaking I did not hear that song earlier. I was worried a bit that whether geetasri elimination episode is going to be repeated again. but anwesha has sang the song so nicely that all my fear vanishes

I was just watching a feature on Prakriti. The people of Darjeeling have so much expectations from that innocent girl. The whole of Darjeeling is supporting her.
Afer seeing the feature i am quite sure now that judges have axed her, because her vote power was enough to keep her away from Scary land. So prakriti fails to become Prashant Tamang-II.
Well interesting results are emerging in my blog. Anvesha has taken a slight lead over Vyom. In the other poll VOI Champ is way ahead of Saregama champ.
