where do i start??i was really touched by this episode...areebs elimination was not unfair..but considering u still ahve vyom and prakriti, its definitely unfair...
ok ..a folk songs special...
ila arun was the guest..she was flamboyant as usual..tho not a patch on usha uthup..!!abhaas was cute in different costumes...his compering was so so today..
..but the effortless ease with which he sings makes him a great host...hes a natural..!!!
anwesha started with morni bhaga ma..she was fantabulous!!a truly gifted child and the sincerity in her singing shows!!!she was really upset coming in scary land...consistent superb performances and coming in scary land is really demoralising, esp for her..!!
vyom with ghanan ghanan..was way below average, he ate up a few words, was out of sur..a good attempt..failed miserably..!!
soniya was superb with damadam mast kalander...i loved it..shes a real bundle of talent!!!
aish with nimbooda nimbooda was great...but, somewhere along the way...i ahve lost interest in her...actually dont look forward to her performances...much!!!
prakriti..with dayya re dayya..was awful..to sum it up in one word...i was horrified wen she started..and winced practically thruout the song.. every time she said hai re..i wanted to scream.!!whew..one performance which can b forgotten!!!
areeb started with a song, am not sure abt it, i seem to have heard it somewhere ..cant place it tho...he forgot his lyrics and was ripped by the judges..deservedly!!

acid test..anwesha with mausam ka adla badli mein was rocking...pritam and shreya gave her 100 each...
soniya with baghban title song was very very good, i thot..
areeb with sajan tere bin was fantastic..it was pretty close betn him and soniya..eliminated...!!!
the thing abt areeb is hes always got a smiling face..actually took the elimination quite well..but, everyone were shedding tears..i ahvent seen shreya cry like this..
this guys got talent..and will bounce back once he gets serious abt his singing... shed tears too, not bcoz he was eliminated...but, he had to go out and vyom and prakriti still there...it was heart breaking....
next week challenger round, i think a few ahve been shortlisted...one will b selected by the judges..prob sing with the other 5 on saturday...
goofy, tum maano ya maano..areeb is hell of a talented guy, just c him after 4 yrs...if hes serious abt his singing...he will rock...hes another natural like abhaas..!!
i am actually tempted to place soniya above aishwarya...somewhere aish lost me along her musical journey!!
for me the top 5 wud b.... anwesha,soniya, areeb aishwarya and gitasree...

I haven't seen the episode yet but attempting 'Daiyya re Daiyya' from Madhumati itself requires some 'kaleja'.

goofy relax..do u honestly think the show works according to votes or otherwise...the decision is taken by the producer,the backers of the show,based on TRPs to some extent...judges are mere puppets...they only ahve the right to appreciate performances to a great extent...the selection, elimination etc is not in the hands of the judges...
we can no longer call these..talent shows,they r money making businesses in the guise of reality show...!!!
lets appreciate talent and get phukat entertainment..and let the producer make money.....evens out!!!

I might sound like a broken record, but I just heard Anwesha singing 'Dere dere' and 'Ami je tomar' on YouTube as well as heard all the comments from judges, again!
I was crying with joy!
She makes me so proud. Way to go kiddo!
Just finished watching Anwesha's and Soniya's performance and really have to say this...
I'm not sure why Soniya's performance extracted such an emotion from Kalyani but I felt that she was 'Kansura' in the entire song!!!!
She did not hit the right scale (maybe someone has asked her to sing at a lower pitch or something like that) had a lower pitch than the original song and therefore could NEVER catch up to the correct 'sur'.
She should have hit this one wayyyy out of the park but she did not. I have always found her hurrying the songs up and I think today's performance was an attempt to rectify that problem but ended up being a disaster.
She has a lot of potential and very clear voice but she needs to really work hard on her sur.
I know not a lot of people agree to my assessment of Soniya's singing and that's why I am attaching a link of the original song by Runa Laila

Gouz,after watching yest's show i have realized 2 things--
1.this show does not deserve Anvesha--whether she gets votes or not is irrelevant.
2.I am FED UP of aishwarya and her over-hype.if dey want her to b the VOI just declare it straight away.why play with a talent as enermous as Anvesha's n budding talents like gitasri,soniya,areeb n jayant? I am done with her n her supproters.she picks d SAME songs every time--no variety,always d easy ones which suit her voice. still gets d highest votes.no wonder gajji loves her.
3.By the way,Soniya in scary land and vyom in fairy land--not at all a positive sign.cud b we have soniya n anvesha in bottom 2 next time n 1 has 2 b eliminated.anyway dey r the 2 deserving finalsits out of the current 5.

this girl is giving me shock every week. I think more than 90% of her songs are duets. This time its lata n ila arun combination. I really enjoyed the facial expression of Ila during anwesha performance.
after todays performance, I feel vyom should have eliminated before jayant itself. What would have happened to the song if he had to sing this songs solo (without aishwarya). Liked his honesty. For me, next it should be his time to be eliminated. (I prefer prakriti ahead of vyom)
Soniya sang the song quite well. could have been better. its song from her genre. feel bad for her parents- their 1st presence, n soniya is in the scaryland for the 1st time.
aishwarya's singing was not upto my expectation. i see her in top 2. so more expectation. agree with goofy, abt anamika (saregamapa) singing this song. i think anamika sang this song better. lots of the people says there should be no comparison. but i feel comparison is must, whether within the show or among the show or with prev contestant or with legends.
anamika is going to sing Ami Je Tomar in saregamapa tommorrow. sonu has also made some remarks. m waiting to watch that show n compare.
Note-when aish was showing her gratitude towards the judges, kunal was pointing finger towards ila, so that aish can thank her too. kunal, u r on tv man, control yaar.

areeb- feel bad for this guy. under tremendous expectation pressure. praticing a lot, which is affecting his throat. under pressure he forgots the lyrics this time too.
really doubt, abt aish gaining the top spot. gajji wants more votes for prakriti.

anwesha- this was what i was fearing. i also love to see her performing twice on saturday. but how long a kid can survive this elimination pressure everyweek.
areeb- sang really well. i wish he should have done this earlier. i will miss him. unique voice. need some more training.
soniya- sang good. not upto the mark. areeb was better than her. judges must have considered prev performance while deciding.
watch the expression on someone's face, when shreya says she has given anwesha 100.

gitasri- I would have ranked her 3rd in the competition. Initially I liked her better than aish. but after gita's elimination, aish did not sang that bad.

My thoughts about the singers used to match Kalyani and Amit while Goofy and I used to NOT see eye-to-eye about things, minus Anwesha who everyone in the universe agrees is the best.

Guys, stop trashing Aish. Its a request. If it was not for Anwesha on this show, she would have been running away with the show, by far. I just don't get it.
There's no falsetto, there's no pretense, there's no flaw in that girl's singing and you guys are just on her case. Why?

Aish definitley has problems in her singing... its all canned. sounds the same. The same thing that Gitasri had, all songs sounded exactly the same.
Aish is NOT that bad. She just does not bring in the same emotion as Anwesha. Today's song was the same. She sang effortlessly, perfect, but I felt that she was somewhere else. Distracted and very mechanical.
She does pick songs that suit her genre, why shouldn't she?
By the same yardstick, shouldn't Soniya attempt a classic Lata song and come out of her comfort zone to sing something that can show her all round talent.

..and coming to Vyom, if you start from where he was and be where he is today, you are a true student of music. Someone who has fire in his belly, the zeal to learn and on top of that, the attitude of a gentleman.

Being a marathi, I am very much offended by SVOI that they call Anwesha as "Bangalar Garbo". I feel that she is the pride of India. All the Indians should vote for her. She is above all competetions...I am pretty sure that she is the future star of India.
I am ashamed of India who did not vote for Anwesha. I am really really frustrated.
Anwesha is beyond comparison. Aish is not even close to her. I prefer soniya to aish.

It was a wonderful episode as i just happened to love folk songs. But felt bad for areeb. Vyom shud have gone instead of areeb. Vyom is sticking around longer though.
I felt really bad for Anwesha. Whats wrong with people of India? Can't they see the talent. Still we Indians have that regional feeling i guess. I felt she was very disheartedn today. Poor gal!! But Anwesha u are too talented to be ignored. I am sure all music directors must be watching and observing.

anweshas definitely the find of any reality show in this decade..shes way beyond this show or any other shows...i will not call myself a fan[we know what happens with fans..they cannot c beyond their nose..IMHO]..but, shes the best..and amazing..!!!

What's 'smug' look for you is 'innocence' for others. What's 'knows she won't go into scary land for you' is 'sorry, I don't know and why she won't go into scary land except for the same reason as Prakriti won't. If you noticed, Aish is a 100 times better'?

About you comments on Aish singing a beat slower and Soniya singing 'Kansura'. Its completely different.
Singing 'Kansura' happens when you DO NOT get the sur right at the start and then keep chasing it and never get it. You think you were fine cause you were not in sur the whole time. Its something that kills many a great 'potential' singers.
Singing a beat slower is not 'Kansura'. Not singing in tune for the entire song is 'Kansura'.

Why is it that there are no Audio/Visuals about Anwesha, or that her Dad is not against her singing, or that she will not be able to sing today as she has 102 temperature (forget that she was ready to faint as she was singing 'Mausam ki adla badli' and making Kunal Ganjawala wonder, should Gayatri take fresh singing lessons?)
I think I am completely in love with that kid's singing, attitude, dedication, talent, soft spoken ways, humility, basically everything :)

He sang an Udit, a Manna Dey, and two Kishore songs with effortless ease. Nowhere could I notice that he is trying to reproduce the original. He sings all of them in his own way.

I have a DVR and I record SVOI Chhote Ustaad and keep watching it again and again. I have already watched Anwesha's performances 4 times today. Today was a treat man. Two fantastic songs each worth a best singer award!
Ila Arun to paagal ho gayee thhee episode mein. She was clapping, showing Kunal her goose bumps, dancing to Anwesha's tune.

I always compare the song, sang by diff singers in various shows. Personally I feel, it give us chance to judge any contestant. Its tough to compare 2 contestant singing diff songs.
Thats why I put up the link for songs sang by diff contestant in various show. By comparing all those links, one can easily judge the capacity of anwesha.

I have to say to Kalyani--I agree with eevry word you said about Ash,smug expression included. Its as if she knows she will be in fairy land every time.that itself is suspicious. and her voice is sweeet--that's all.Full stop.end.period.there's nothing beyond that,nor ever anything else.
I don't like her now,and eevn when i liked her earlier i never found her singing extraordinary.Sum ppl on this forum need 2 see through genuine praise(which is lavished on Anvesha) and mechanical praise(thanks 2 gajji,no doubt). why i mentioned harshit is bcoz ash is like hrashit in every way-ordinary singing, extraordinary hype.
again note i never said she is a bad singer.she is well above average.But she is 2 complacent.she does not have the hunger 2 experiment n learn like Anvesha.Anvesha is a true student of music.
i think all girls on this forum have got the right perceptions abt ash.she is not a good actress.she thinks she is going 2 win.and soniya is much better den her,and acc. 2 my rankings vyom n prakriti r not much behind her.in fact,dey r on same level as her bcoz dey r newcomers n r improving fast,butr ash is trained n has no desire 2 imrpove/try out diff stuff.

Abhas's every expression is sympathetic 2wards anvesha. he saw himself in d same position a few months ago when despite being the best,he had to lose out 2 'over-hyped' harshit n also'ran ishmeet.poor thing.he sang better den both of dem in d finales,n was appreciated more.after all,talent does win in the long run.
Anvesha,take heart from the fact that most unbiased ppl love ur singing.don't ever think dat ash n prakriti r more popular.the whole voting concept is flawed from the word go.who can say which contestant has more clout?
who can say which contestant has more frnds n family who vote? who can say which region is more determined 2 vote? these questions shud b analzed by the sms-loving producers.
I have noticed the most talented one usually comes third.why is that?abhas in d previous ssn,Poonam in saregama 2007, emon chatterjee in indian idol 3,rahul vaidya in ssn 1 etc. etc. the best never wins.can we turn the tables this way round?

Totally agree with you Neelakshi....Aish is out from my list. I feel she is
a good copycat. No one can beat Anwesha. Her talent will take her beyond the
trp ratings, sms voting and zonalisation. She is even gonna outperform
shreya, alka and the contemporary singers some day. Her passion will take
her to heights. On top of everything she is too humble, sincere and down to earth....god bless her

Just watched anamika singing Ami Je Tomar. first impression- I am not impressed. as anwesha singing hit the soul directly, it did not happen for anamika. have to watch the clips again. But anwesha is far supreme.
Regarding anwesha n aishwarya, I am getting updates from my parents. The reason was not disclosed in todays episode.
