i honestly think they can stop all the drama and make a straight forward simple singing show!!!
having said that, heres my take on the show!!!
started with hum bhi hai josh mein..group song by the contestants and the challengers,in a boxing ring[phew..and dont miss the thick rope and a tug of war...lol].
one silly AV..showing all the kids accepting the challengers...as if they ahve a choice!!!
the kids in scary land were vyom, soniya and prakriti...
vyom with baar baar haan from lagaan..was good,mere hisaab se..
soniya with o papad waale panga na le..from makdi ..since, i ahvent heard the song b4, i cant say much...but, she sounded good,to my ears..
prakriti with jahaan teri nazaar hai...i felt she sang one octave less[hard, u r opinion on this..!!!]and i personally felt, she was flat and besura in many places...atleast, for this perforamance she deserved to b out!!!
the judges were extremely ahrsh on all the 3 kids...anyways..
shaan judged the challengers...
the kid called rigved who was selected sang mitwa quite well[in fact better than harshit..]and deserved to b selected...
another kid, rudraksh sang soni de nakhre very very well, i was quite impressed...he was much better in one performance than abeer in all his performances...
towards the end,vyom started off with , if we can ahve challenger, y not the other kids who were eliminated...

But I must mention that Nishtha did sing better than prakirti.
Soniya was nowhere near Saregamapa kid Vaishali aka Chimani with her rendering of Panga Na Le.
New kid on the block Rigved is likely to show the door to Vyom in the next round of elimination.
Can't wait to see tomorrow's episode to listen to ANWESHA and Aish.
Rest of the pack are "also ran".

Anwesha, as I wrote before, is the find of this decade.
Next wish of mine is, THAT SHE SHOULD NOT WIN THIS CONTEST.
If she does, then her career will start from bondage to ZEE.
This will not be a good thing as we know that all the past winners of almost all the contests have disapeeared into oblivion.
whereas the runner ups have flourished.Shreya is one example.
So this is a strong reason why Anwesha should lose.

Just heard renditions of Mitwaa by different reality show contestants and I think that no one came close to the original.
Here're my rankings..
Abhaas: Sang great and effortlessly, as usual, but I felt that he overdid his variations. He can give all such singers a run for their money when he arrives in bollywood!
Amanat: Softer voice that did not suit the song that much. English pronunciation was bad!
Emon: God, they consider Indian Idol a singing show?
Harshit: Sorry dude, this was not a Kumar Sanu song.
..and now the original. What a song! Shafaqat Amanat Ali and Amanat Ali have given us two gems in the recent times. Mitwaaa and Yeh Honsla!
I remember Harshit's performance after I started watching the show and recollected how the judges used to fight like a pack of stray dogs!

Aap ki baat mein kuch to sahchai hai lekin since this is the kids version, by the time they mature in age, Zee's contract would be a history!
I, for once, want the best talent to surface to the top and win the contest outrightly.
I think this is important to encourage other kids/adults also to participate in such contests knowing that if they are deserving, they stand a chance of winning.

the top two Anwesha and aiswarya cannot be challenged by any one of their age.

In the other show Little Champs the blind girl Vasundhra was eliminated. Sonu Nigam said it was unfortunate that she could not reach the finals, but others were also equally good, so our choice is limited.Rohan sang quite well the "SaiRam" song inspite of having high fever.
Gajendra has played a clever game with prakriti, the minute she landed in Scary land she was eliminated by the judges. Prakriti fell into the trap laid by Gaj & the judges. How did Prakriti lag behind in getting votes this time is still a mystery to me. I am sure among the 3 scary land children Prakriti must hv got the highest votes.

There is a sad news. Aneek Dhar met with an accident this Tuesday. His driver died on the spot. Aneek has also severe head injuries. A former Saregama little champ was also injured who was with Aneek at that time. I am surprised that no newspaper or newschannel has reported this incident. Aditya Narayan informed about this incident in yesterday's Little Champs show.
Lets Pray for Aneek's speedy recovery.

In a way,i agree wid Hemant there. I also wud not mind if anvesha becomes the first runner up.In fact,dat wud b better 4 her acreer as she wud not b lapped up by zee and its producers.

Young children did not listen 2 film songs so avidly.there were not any reality shows. Our exposure 2 the filmi world was limited when we were growing up.
But these kids were born in the 90's. wid d advent of liberalisation there was an emphasis on popular culture.Nowadays i have seen kids in age group of 8-16.dey grow up on film songs. der parents also allow dem more exposure.
hence 2 compare amanat n abhas wid dat rigved is not really done. today's kids grow up much faster. Dey own cell phone at a much younger age. dey r technology-savvy.
similiarly i know it is 100% true that anvesha sang 'barso re megha' better den priyani, n 'chup chup ke' better den priyani. I know ash sang 'nimbuda' better den deepali of indian idol 3.Also pro. soniya sings wid more confidence den arshpreet. But d latter ones were born in a diff. time n age,n i think its a bit unfair. u r free 2 disagree wid me!!! but Shreya n sunidhi had 2 struggle far more den Anvesha n Anamika. those were diff. times(i hope i am not sounding older than myt 22 yrs!!)
Aneek & Sanchita injured in an accident:
Winner of Zee TV's Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge this year, Aneek Dhar and Sanchita Bhattacharya, winner of last year's Lil Champs, met with an accident early this morning at Kokrajhar near Goalpara in Guwahati while returning home after performing at a musical concert. Sanchita's father, Mr Druba Bhattacharya and one of the organisers of the concert were also in the luxury car Sanchita and Aneek were travelling in. While at Kokrajhar as the foggy morning made vision difficult, their car collided head-on with a truck coming from the opposite direction. All the four have sustained injuries. They were rushed to a nearby clinic for first aid and later shifted to a hospital. The condition of Sanchita's father is said to be critical, he is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Guwahati. It has been learnt that he has received some stitches on his head. While Aneek was flown to the city after necessary treatment at the clinic and has been admitted at a city hospital, Sanchita is under treatment in Guwahati along with her father. Sanchita has received injuries on her head and eyes. Sanchita called up at her home this morning to inform about the accident. Her brother, Mr Akash Bhattacharya said Sanchita called up and said their father has received a head injury and that she and Aneek have also sustained head injuries. She also informed that her eyes have been hurt. The two, along with Sanchita's father, had gone for the musical concert in Guwahati which was held on Monday. Aneek had just returned from Kuwait on Sunday after performing and had left for Guwahati early on Monday. His mother, Mrs Rupa Dhar, said Aneek's condition is now stable

Watched the show today. I liked it. I agree that it was a feeka show due to no Anwesha or Aishwarya and a really damp challenger squad but I liked it cause I had really really low expectations of it.
About Prakriti's singing. One word, awful!
The kid is not bad. She has a very nice voice quality but struggles with her diction and is in bad need of some formal training. She can be a very good singer if trained.
About the particular song, she was 'kansura' in her mukhada, her notes were lower than required by the pace of the song, did not memorize the lyrics properly etc. She picked up the antara relatively better. However, she promtly went to the 'kansura' mode as soon as she hit the mukhada again.
The song is a peppy number from Kaalia and needs all the murkis to make it sound as good as the original. Her non-hindi background and maybe not having seen the movie also affected her rendering.
Amongst the challengers, I wasn't impressed by Rigved as much as I was impressed by Rudraksh.
Mitwaa is a very very difficult song. All high note alaaps were flat. He was borderline shouting when he took high notes. In all very average.
Soni day nakhare by Rudraksh was rendered much better!
This guy will be beaten to pulp by the original Chhote Ustaads. Pritam was scathing in his remarks. Shreya was very matter-of-fact when she said that they cannot match Anwesha!

thanx,i do like prakritis voice quality,bas usse jyada aur kuch nahi...but watch areeb after a few yrs...hes amazingly effortless[the singing..we r not talking abt his breath control and his weight issues]..has a better grasp on music than lot of kids..on this show!!

I agree with you that Areeb is a kid to watch. I think that he came either too late(when his voice is cracking) or too early for a manly voice. He does have a good knowledge about music thanks to his gharana birth.
But I beelieve that Gharana can give you a trained voice but not sweetness of voice or voice quality. See Anwesha and Aish. They have no Gharana to boast of.
It would be a voice which can best be described as a Sufi type or Toshi type if you want to accept my 0.02 cents.
I am only worried about both Anwesha's and Aish's voice sweetness. They should not lose that like Sunidhi chowhan.
If you remember that Sunidhi who came to SAREGAMA in a white frock, had sweetest of the voices I have ever heard. But look at the present voice quality.
No wonder we still adore Lataji and Ashaji for maintaining that sweetness to a fair degree tll they were in 50s and 60s.
Let's hope that they remain as sweet then as they are now.
Speaking about Anwesha, it is a combination of everything best you can hope to possess and HUMBLENESS that she has that will propel her to instant stardom.
I am looking forward to wildcard entry episode and see either Mansi or Bhalu or Gitashri coming back.
Mansi is another star on the horizon . If she gets correct training, this cherubic chubby girl can do wonders.

thank u for responding to my statement...my idea of good music, voice etc prob differs from lot of other folks on this blog...anweshas the best in every way,no way can any sane person question it or refute it in any way...!!!shes absolutely versatile [and perfection personified]....like asha bhonsle[i personally dont think her voice is sweet,its different].aishwaryas voice is sweet...which has a very limited range...like lata mangeshkars or can i say geeta dutt also[now, let the bricks and bats pour in!!!]...i adore all the old time singers...!!!i am just putting across a different perspective...!!!
i wud prefer a different type of voice..thats y i keep talking abt areeb and soniya...!!prob he may not do well in typical play back singing..but, if kunal ganjawala can do it, prob he too will shine..!!!
prob with his voice and training and if better sense prevails both soniya and areeb can train in classical singing and then branch out and make a name for themselves!!!
its each individuals perspective what they do with their god gifted voice...!!!

I am quite sure that Prakriti will make it back through wild-card entry. This time if she manages to come back, her people will not let her come again in scary land, because they know Prakriti's coming in scary land means her sure elimination.
Rigveda was really outstanding, other challengers were quite sub-standard compared to him. So his victory was certain.
Today's episode will be worth watching, the whole team of "Race" is coming to the show.So no body can miss today's episode.
I think prakriti will definitely return back as wild card entry. Dont think gajji want to loose such a big vote bank

they had the RACE team on the show...the producer,directors,katrina,saif, akshaye,sameera[phew!!]
this show can b watched for the amazingly ever gorgeous katrina and the sauve akshaye khanna..
ok.....none of the 5 kids sang...only the 8 eliminated kids did...!!!
gitasri with zindagi mein...rabba o rabba was amazing...loved her singing!!!
mansi with billo rani..slipped in quite a few places...!!!
shailey with chalo,tumko lekar chalen was good, tho sharp in places[as pointed out by kunal]..i liked her performance....
abeer with bardashth nahi zinda[hope i got that right]..i ahve never heard that song...but i didnt like his singing either..so, the cute factors def out..!!!
abhaas with dil chahtha hai...was effortless as usual...bringing a smile to my lips, even as i type this...[hard, this is 4 u..]
prakriti with dil ki nazar...was awful,i thought...all deficiencies very well covered up with the music...
alpansh..with koi kahe kehtha rahe..was amazing..loved his performance...!!!

completely agree with ur comments & the 3 choice- areeb, geetasree & alpansh. (though shailey's has also made a good attempt)
alpansh- gr8 performance. tremendous change since we last saw him.
geetasree- as usual gr8 singing.
areeb- though he sang his genre song, but it was tough one. he sang quite nocely.
I prefer areeb among the 3
- a different singing quality
- apart from this episode alpansh singing did not touch my heart.
- geetasree- when I compare with anwesha, I dont find she have a gr8 voice. If she comes back, then she will cut the bengali votes, which will make life tough for anwesha. I know I sound quite absurd. But thats the hard fact. If people want anwesha to be in the final they have to vote against geetasree. I really doubt how long geetasree can sustain in the contest, despite her gr8 voice. she lacks expression today also.
whatever may be my choices are, the contestants going to come back are
Prakriti & Jayant.
I will rate the yesterday's performance of kids as follows:-
Gitashri - Excellent
Alpansh - Good
Abeer - So So
Jayant - Disappointing
Prakriti - Very Good
Areeb - Very Good.
Mansi - So So
Shailey - So So
Prakriti's performance was a revelation yesterday. Though Gitashri was the best, but Prakriti will make it as she has the vote power.
Amit rightly mentioned Gajji will not like to lose such a big vote bank. This big money can come to Gajji only through Prakriti's voters and yesterday Prakriti has justified her claim for a re-entry with her good performance.

I think Gajji is of late watching a lot of these saas-bahu serials. So he wants to hv best of both worlds. He is already the king of reality shows, now he wants to cut into ekta kapoor's audience by bringing in all this dramabazi.

acc 2 me gitu is better den ash.her voice quality is better,so is her grasp on sur n taal.also no breath problems. well i am quite sure ANVESHA/GITU/SONIYA/AREEB/JAYANT wll not win. crown will b taken by undeserving prakriti/aishwarya thanx 2 rampant regional vote banks.

No Anwesha, No Aishwarya. Just a mad trick to extract more from a gullible audience.
Looks like everyone has cast their vote for who their favorite wildcard will be. Here's mine and continuing a true blogging tradition, I will present my unbiased opinion.
(It freaks me out, sometimes, that I think similar to one of the moderators of this blog)
1. Areeb...by far.
Picked a very difficult song to sing (any Nusrat number with its high and low tones is a bit** I tell you) Granted it was right up his alley but he sang it with effortless ease. Added his own variations, did justice to the alaaps. Mesmerizing!
2. Alpansh....this one is gonna ruffle some feathers :)
He showed me the desire that is required for someone who wants to come back. His voice quality betrays him or else he displayed the kind of fire you need in your belly to make the most - given a chance.
3. Gitasri...ends up being 3rd IMHO, largely due to wrong choice of song.
'Jindagi mein koi aaye na rabba' is NOT her genre. The original song has two variations, one sung by Sukhwinder Singh and the other by Richa Sharma.
There's a reason Shreya was NOT chosen to sing this song, because this song has a rural touch to it. It requires the voice to break and sound a little rough on the edges.
Gitasri's voice quality is too soft and silky and even though she did justice to the song her voice just did not cut it for me.
If you get one chance to come back, you choose a song that is from your own home turf so that you can just seal the deal.
4. Prakriti...yeah, even I am surprised to rank her this high.
She sang out of her skin. Chose a song that complements her perky voice quality and did total justice to her rendition.
Give her some time and some training. She can be rocking!
I don't think any of the other participants even deserve a mention.
I was quite horrified by the challengers on Friday and today the wildcard round added to the mix by its own share of horror moments!
Who wants to see pretenders, I want the real deal. Bring back Anwesha! I miss her :)

I dunno if you have read any of Harivanshrai's 'Madhushala'. Its worth a read!
The interesting thing was that Bachchan babu was a teetotaler. He was asked once, "Madhushala padhney kay baad yeh manNa mushkil hai ki aap peetey nahin," he replied and I want to recite what he said, especially for Kalyani to show that writing or listening to songs about sharaab necessarily has no connection to the actual act of drinking!

I think that the "GONER" logon ka episode IMHO was a damper.
Only Gitashri stood out amongst all. Shaily was too sharp in higher notes .
Jayant could have been better. Mansi disappointed me.
Areeb, as I wrote before needs another two years to get his final voice quality.
Gajji knows his game of poker wel enough to spring hares out of the hats.

Anvesha, Aishwarya & Gitashri are the best 3 singers of Chotte Ustaad. But this new boy Rigveda might upset some equations. I dont know from which state he comes from and what is his vote power.
I dont know about Gajji's plans, but i feel Prakriti will be brought back to make more money from the votes she gets.
Bringing in a new challenger "Rigveda" is an extremely foolish and unfair move by Gajji.
I think the present set of judges are more fair compared to the judges of SVOI (Senior). They should hv been given the power to select the wild-card winner, Gitashri would hv surely won.
I forgot to mention about Jayant. I was specially looking forward to his performance, but yesterday it seemed as if he was not in a mood to sing at all. Very Very disappointing performance from a singer of his calibre. His vote appeal was also quite half-hearted. He just said vote for the best contestant, as if he knew that he is not going to make it any way.
Jayant disappointed his fans yesterday. We expect a much better performance from the future Ghazal maestro of India.

I agree abt d judges here being fairer than d senior judges. 2 many politics was going on there-- alka wid abhilasha, aadesh wid harshit(dis one stands out)and jatin wid abhas. tho abhilasha n abhas were gud, dey did not need such mentors. harshit was far below all d hype. also what happens 2 arshpreet where was her mentor? i still feel bad abt her elimination esp bcoz alka that day was more concerned wid mirande's tears den the fact that one amazing singer got voted out.

I doubt that Gitasri will bag enough votes to come back.
There seems to be some reason in Amit's logic. If it needed Anurag Basu and Ronit Roy to ask for votes for Anwesha, it might be 'possible' that there was some regional voting for her. There is NOTHING wrong in it though cause our little girl deserves, regional, national even international votes
Only based on that logic, Amit's contention makes sense that Gitasri might cut into Anwesha's votes.
On the other hand I feel that Anwesha is so far ahead that she appeals to everyone and has a universal appeal.
Dunno, I am caught between two theories :)
how does it matter??gaj has already decided the winner at the beginning of the show,like the last show...lets just enjoy the singing for all its worth...!!!

If Darjeeling/Sikkim can vote, Prakriti Giri will be the winner no matter how she sings. So, even though Aishwarya or Anwesha are the best singers in this competition, they wil not be able to make it. Also, if Darjeeling can vote, the wild card entry would be Prakriti...no doubt about it...

size of state does not matter. passion depends. belongingness to the people matters. though darjeeling may be a part of Bengal, nepali people has more passion than bengali's in this matter. Initially I contended that darjeeling is not a part of North East.Thats true. But Prakriti is getting votes from North East also, as lots of there are lots of nepali people in the 7 states of North East.
During indian idol, in the state of meghalaya, local residents did not allowed vote casting for Prashant Tamang, as they have favored the local boy Amit Paul. But presently nothing is going to stop prakriti's vote bank.

Exactly my thoughts. Gajendra Singh cannot decide who's gonna win. All these speculations in the blog are making me sick in my stomach.
People, Gajendra Singh can only prolong and manipulate how he runs the show. He is NOT sitting there counting every vote or manipulating it according to his whims.
If he was manipulating votes, Ishmeet would have NEVER won.
We all love Anwesha here and its the right choice but go and read the blogs. Talk to people who are fans of the show and you will find an equal, if not more, fan following of Aishwarya.
In this show, she deserves it. If the final is between Anwesha and Aishwarya, that's all we need. Right?
Goofy is right. I am sure there's a 3rd party firm that counts the votes. It is a creditable show run by Gajendra Singh who has won all his creditability doing this for years.

We can keep going at each other for eternity but the fact of the matter remains that it will NOT change anything.
Blame Gajji for right things and not for messing around with votes. He gives so many chances, anyway, for people to beat him to pulp.
Right from day one people on this blog are insinuating that there is something fishy going on in the way participants are getting eliminated, or that it has started resembling the earlier SVOI show where deserved participants get eliminated yada, yada, yada.
Gajji changed the format of this show to bring some semblance of sanity to the format. Would you have rather seen Anwesha eliminated in the 3rd episode after Gitasri?
I know its easy to get carried away, but take a deep breath and think calmly.
(Close your eyes and take a deep breath. Feeling better? :) )
I agree with you that the wildcard was not needed and is a shamless way to ask for more money.
I agree that the challenger episode was totally uncalled for, as reflected by the quality of the challengers.
I also agree that this is a money making proposition for STAR and hence all the gimmicks, but,
I DO NOT agree that Gajji manipulates votes.
Call it blinders, blinkers, burkha, whatever.
Ishmeet won because votes were cast in his favor and counted in a fair and correct manner.
Anwesha is in the competition ONLY because of the new format of the show which gives more power to judges.
Both the above were made possible by, guess who - Gajji!

yup, i agree with u hard...u ahve analysed it quite well abt gitasri...but, she did try to do a good job..with the constraints of her voice for this song ..i do love her voice...but, again its not a versatile voice...

I will just ignore the comments that you have made regarding who my favorite is, on this show. I blog here everyday and probably write the maximum posts, by far, so I'll let the bloggers who read my posts decide if my love and support for Anwesha appears to be a gimmick or a trick.
I will, however, try and address the points that you had 'serious reservations' about, from some of my previous posts.
1. I said that Gitasri was
a. Not the best singer on that day in Wildcard episode and
b. Needs to do some work before she can be in the same league as Anwesha and Aishwarya (I didn't use the word versatile but I do support the thought, she's NOT versatile YET)
2. Gajendra Singh should NOT be castigated on this blog for something that we have NO proof of.
1. I totally stand by what I said. Gitasri was NOT the best on that day, IMHO. Its an opinion afterall, isn't it? As is yours, so what's the big fuss about?
I do want people who write here to be more objective when they make certain comments and not just go ranting around. That ways, everyone learns something from the others.
When I or Kalyani express our concerns over any singer, we try and explain clearly what parts we did not like and why?
Here's an example of your objectivity:
- GITASRI--my fave after anvesha!! she rocks!!
- Poor gitasri--what a waste of a budding talent!!
- Geetasri was superior 2 everyone except Anvesha.
Very insightful.
We all agreed that she is great but was NOT the best on that day.
Clearly according to you she was the best. May I ask why so that we can also feel the same love?
2. A point that has plagued this blog and I just wanted to make everyone realize that there's nothing that proves it.
I am NOT a Gajendra Singh supporter BUT I do respect him a lot for what he has given us. Read my open letter to him, you will understand where I am coming from.
If it ever comes out that Gajji is manipulating votes to suit his purpose, I will be the first one to hang him out to dry!
...and now to the most hilarious acusation - that I am an Aish supporter and that too over Anwesha. Like I said before, I think I have hardly ever written about Aish in this blog compared to what I wrote about Anwesha.
However, I am not a cruel person to break your delusion. So go on, live large!

Even though the different website shows Anwesha is liked by most of the people, but it does not mean that she is going to win or proves that she is the best. Yes, personally I feel that she is the best singer of this competition but I doubt about her success in this competition. Think about Raja/Amanat. Most of the people in different blogs or youtube mentioned that Raja is better, but finally Aneek won (BTW, Aneek was my favorite too). So, these survey prove nothing.

I agree that Darjeeling is a very small district of WB, but the way they voted Prashant Tamang was unbelievable. If size matters, then Harshit should have won or someone from MP.
