Kalyani, Do you mean that Areeb was really weak this Friday (for the show that will be aired on 18th) or was it 'Last Friday and Saturday'? If you are talking about the show that was recorded today, who were the contestants in scary land apart from Abeer and Areeb?
Abeer was expected to be out any episode. But he was a cute little boy. Now we'll be missing two cute little performers (Mansi and Abeer). Though i knew they will be out son i used to love listening to them. They still have that cute bachoo waala awaaz.
The competition is gonna become more interesting. So far the best singers are in competition. I just hope and pray that the sms voting don't mess up the whole talent line up. Prakriti sings good but can't compare with Anwesha or Aish or even Soniya. But she is getting lot of votes. I liked Jayant's few performances not all. Probably Vyom might be eliminated next episode. I feel Areeb is better than Vyom. His problem is his voice breaks. Looks like its gonna be only girls in the finals. :)
Rishi and Antar, One thing that you can do (I dunno if its possible) is add a link to the online voting site (not just Indya.com but the exact voting page link) so that people who visit this site can go and vote for contestants. Anwesha will surely need our votes to finally become the Chotti Ustaad!!!! I think Aish should be fine cause she comes from Ahmedabad and the people from Gujarat are pretty savvy and rich at the same time!!!
Anwesha and Aishwarya are sure shots for this competiion as this is not purely based on public voting. I am hundred percent sure. Third may be Sonya or Jayant. Lets see...
@hard, i was talking abt areebs performance on 11th and 12th...altough,hes one of my favs for his sheer talent[which shines thru on and off]..i will b honest enuff to admit.. was not better than mansi on last friday...he just scraped thru... abt this friday...we dunno who r in scary land...we just abt manage to find out who gets eliminated..!!!sorry guys..u will have to wait and watch whos in scary land..like us!! cheers..

Kalyani, My primary concern was NOT the contestants who were in scary land but more to understand if Areeb sang bad even when Abeer was eliminated. Here's why my question is important and this is something which seems like a misnomer amongst bloggers here. Public voting or earlier performance only affects a contestant upto his trip to scary land. Its judges who decide the final elimination and thus your suggestion of Areeb being the 'weakest link on Friday' does not make much sense cause the performance of Friday really does not matter. What is to be seen is if the judges favored him even though he sang worse than Abeer! Hope this also clears the confusion in other people's mind that the elimnation in this SVOI will be random or based entirely on public voting. (Please read my earlier post for that analysis)
Siddhartha, You're dead on about Aish and Anwesha getting into the final four. I am still not able to convince myself if they will be the finalists though cause if the number of participants going to scary land reduces to two, public voting will decide the final two (IMHO). Areeb never impressed me from the first day, so his elimination is totally justified. He had a hoarse voice, I think innocent child was suffering from some throat infection.Anyways lets hope the best child wins.
Ishmeet Singh, who was crowned Star Voice of India, released his first Gurbani album today at Dukh Niwaran Saheb Gurdwara in the city of Ludhiana. Ishmeet said he felt good that his first album on Gurbani was being released on Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary. Notably, the lad was crowned “Voice of India” at the grand finale on November 24, 2007, which also happened to be the 538th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. Titled “Satguru Tumre Kaaj Saware” and launched by BIG Music and Home Entertainment, the album features six shabads that include Satguru tumhare kaaj saware, Mitar pyare nu, Ram japo ji and Ek noor. The organisers said Ishmeet will also perform at the 1,000 days countdown opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on January 6, 2008 to be held in New Delhi. Big Music and Home Entertainment CEO Kulmeet Makkar said: “A pop and dance album with Ishmeet is in the offing. We have signed top 10 artistes of Voice Of India. It is important to understand the growth area of an artist. At the same time we have to keep market demand in mind. This is the first recorded soundtrack album by Ishmeet. And a lot of hard work has gone behind it.” Ishmeet will also go on a world tour beginning February 2008.
Kalyani was talking about Areeb's performance on 11th and 12th. Both were below par. Abeer on the other hand was in fairyland (11th Jan) so, there is no question of Areeb being preferred over Abeer on that friday. Abeer did not sing last friday (11th Jan) as he was not in scary land.
We don't know who else were in scaryland when Abeer's going to be eliminated on 18th Jan. Let it be a suspense, however it is not difficult to put that information as well.
@ Jatin Please check- Areeb is NOT eliminated. It is 'Abeer' - the pendulum - who is going to be eliminated.
Good job Ishmeet! I had seen in the final days leading upto SVOI crowning ceremony, Ishmeet had mentioned at a Gurudwara that he will definitely release a Gurubani album before any other. He was true to his word. I would really love to lay my hands on the shabads. I feel really nostalgic everytime I hear a shabad (I hear one when I listen to Rang De Basanti songs) It reminds me of Sunday morning back home when there was a half hour of shabad telecast every sunday. I still remember its title shabad...Koi bole raam raam, koi khudaye, koi sevey gosaiyaan, koi allahye.... I also think that Ishmeet's soulful voice will do justice to devotional kind of singing and he might not have too much talent but one thing he is blessed with is knowing the type of songs that suit his voice the best.

Well said Friend. I am certainly going to buy Ishmeet's Shabad cassette. It has been a long time since I listened to devotional music. I am happy because of Ishmeet I will once again be listening to Shabad Gurbani after a long-long time.

Even Jagjit Singh has turned to devotional music. I have heard just 2 of his devotional songs One was "Shri Ram", the other one is "Satnam Shri Waheguru". Both were very melodious touching one's soul. Singing devotional songs has 2 benifits for the singers:-
First, it purifies their soul. Second, monetary returns are also quite good.

Believe it or not Lalit Pandit who was Ishmeet's worst critic has signed him for one song. I could not belive my eyes when i read this news in Hindustan Times. Even Aadesh Shrivastava is also signing Ishmeet for one song.

I cant believe it, Lalit Pandit signing Ishmeet. You must be joking. If it is true, I am happy for Ishmeet. Ishmeet has to forget the past and move forward. He has to steer his career forward in Bollywood and if Aadesh & Lalit are the means to it, there is no harm in doing so.

Jatin, If a song has the word 'Sagar' in it, it should be termed a 'devotional' song as an ode to Mr Ramanand 'Devotional' Sagar!!!!! Just kidding! I think there's no set rule for a devotional song, its the tone that defines it. In the movie Seema, Balraj Sahni sings this song in an orphanage/destitute home in front of kids and it can be argued that the 'individual' he's talking about is the god almighty. BTW, the song does feature a statue of god that everyone is sitting in front of, so by your definition too it is devotional. Cheers!

sorry.i am stretching the point...but the lyrics do indicate metaphorically..that the SAGAR being referred to is GOD.... and most devotional songs do ahve a sad tone!! prob..like typical of us...we do remember god in times of need and wen we r in the pits!!general statement...pl...dont refute it..not at any individual..!!!
I have a suggestion for Gajji. He should start a reality music show featuring all the champions of reality shows starting from Abhijeet Sawant - the first Indian idol to Ishmeet Singh- the last man to win a music reality show. The show will be an instant hit. One judge of each show should be selected in the panel of judges. Eg.- Ismail Darbar, Anu Malik, Jatin Pandit & Sonu Nigam.
Kalyani & Rishi please send my suggestion to Gajji, he will definitely find it a profitable venture.
Ishmeet does not need certificate from you to prove that he is the best. Ishmeet has an original soft voice where as your Harshit is a mere copy-cat. In the finals this fact was proved. Even Madhuri Dixit publicly stated Ishmeet was better.

Goofyal, Looks like you are relatively new to this blog and hence are not aware of the affinity Jatin has for Ishmeet. Its a futile discussion to get into, if you notice, all of us have steered clear of it :) We all have our preferences and should respect others which goes true for Jatin too. Anyways, out of my 'holier-than-thou' mode...when I started the thread about devotional songs, it was just an attempt to get people's views on a different genre of music. Its notable how Rehman has 3 compositions in my top ten even though its an all time list. Also ARR's tunes are not run-of-the mill stuff, they are quite different. I also mentioned that I would buy Ismeet's shabad CDs cause I loved shabads and not because of Ishmeet so much. I had originally created a top-ten list of hindi film music songs so no Subbulakshmi or Anup Jalota etc figured in it. Hope this gives you some perspective about this thread on Devotional songs.
Thanks GoofyAl, I went back home last night and watched Anwesha's performance in earlier episodes. She sang Chanda Re in that episode. Pritam's comments to her were, "thoda versatility dikhao" and here's what she does after that. She sings 1. Daiyya re main kahaan aa phansi 2. Maiyya Maiyya 3. Ami je tomar and 4. Dere Dere So after consistently singing songs sung by Lataji, she sings a very difficult song by Asha, another super super difficult item number composed by Rehman, another song sung by Shreya which Pritam admitted they had recorded in multiple sessions and finally a Shubha Mudgal song. I'm sure Pritam or anyone else has NO doubts on her versatility, range, talent and consistency now! I will pray to god that Anwesha ends up winning this show cause she is not only the best but best by a mile and a half!
I am not sure if I am convinced about Soniya's singing abilities. So far she has sung: 1. Channa ve Channa (Gayatri Ganjawala) 2. Lambi Judai (Reshma) 3. Taarey hain barati (Jaspinder Narula) 4. Piya re piya re (Nusrat) 5. Baras ja badal (Sunidhi) She needs to come out of her comfort zone and sing an Asha and a Lata for me to consider her a force to reckon with. Also, I think she's too 'chalak' for being a 9 year old.
regarding soniya, till now in 2 of her episode she got less than sarvottam. (in one of them she got 2 sarvottam & 1 atiuttam) Aaj ki raat was her worst performance. For th last 3 week she is getting sarvottam only.
Her song selection, suits her voice. as you said, she should try something different. But I really doubt if she will do it.

@all, i didnt want to bring this up...after gaj showed the AV questioning soniyas age....but after reading the few comments above..i felt i should. there r lots of factors which play a major role abt attaining the so called maturity in a child. its a fact that girls mature earlier than boys...and a equilibrium is reached to a great extent only in their twenties..or after they cross their puberty!!! there have been documented cases where girls ahve attained menarche by 7 yrs... and if u see the general pattern , girls attaining menarche nowadays is much earlier..like 9-10yrs..wen it was 13-14 yrs a couple of decades ago..!!abt the maturity of her voice...yes, again lot of factors, main being genetic... sorry.this was not supposed to b a lecture on science...i ahve been reading in other sites too abt her age, maturity etc...i basically think , what was written above was not in very good taste....esp wen we dont know anything abt a persons background..or more!!! it was typical of GAJ to bring it up..but, i did hope our wonderful bloggers wud not allude to it!!!

Wonderful comment Kalyani. I also feel we shud not be too judgmental about Soniya. Some kids tend to look more matured and chalaki and blah blah even at an early age. In fact we don't know what she would have gone thru to make her look matured. The AV showing Soniya's age was very inappropriate. Whatever it is she is a nice and bold girl, at least she doesn't beg for sympathy. She uses her talent to get votes, not sympathy.
Chotta Bhalu "Mansi" used to look like a small baccho even though she was 10 yrs. Thats how kids are. All depends on upbringing and situations.
I don't see anything wrong for soniya to choose a song that suits her voice. Anyway Ghulam Ali also told her that her voice is "Alakai". And i feel she has unique voice.

Anvesha, Aishwarya, Jayant, Vyom & Sonia are all very talented kids. It will be a tough ask for judges to decide the winner. But I think finally audience will decide the fate of these kids. I will like to see areeb eliminated soon as he does not impress at all among all the kids.

Folks, I was the one who called Soniya a chalak and it has nothing to do with the a/v that Gajji had played. I will give you instances which irked me. This becomes especially important when out two top contestants are the most soft-spoken and simple kids. 1. Her vote appeals are just over the top, especially the way she tries to copy what Aish said about voting for her as well as all the other contestants, even though I hardly see that spirit in her. I would like people to be honest, as Abeer was when he said, 'mujhey vote kijiye, baaki logo ko nahin' 2. In the aaj ki raat episode when she sang really average and Shreya asked her, oopar kay notes kyoon nahin lag rahein hain? she was like 'gala kharab ho gaya' and Shreya retorted by saying that 'episode say pehle to nahin thha'. Basically she did not have to lie to hide one bad performance. 3. In the Ghulam Ali episode she compared Ghulam Ali to her dad (main apne papa ko to miss karti hoon lekin aaj nahin kar rahi hoon kyoonki Ghulam Ali jee yahaan hain!!!!!) Now where did that come from? I have a problem when people try and use other means to garner sympathy or favors from judges and junta. That is why I have extra respect for singers like Aish and Anwesha who are doing it just on the basis of their talent and nothing else. No audio visuals, no over-the-top vote appeals, no gimmicks just pure singing. My problem is not that much with age but with the attitude. She's a good singer, someone who can carve a niche for herself later in life but she's highly competitive too and knows that this is her chance and wants to grab it with both hands. She's not doing anything wrong but then I'm not wrong either if I do not subscribe to her various antics. Its a behavior I would never condone.

In life who does not have problem. Everyone has. something or other.
But do we watch movies, as sharukh has more problem than salman. or listen to songs of sonu as he has more problem than kailash kher. We watch/listen whosoever gives better performance.
Then why we vote for the person who has more problem. Show the AV of complete one hour (not just few min) for the person who wins the title about his problem n difficulties. It will inspire others to perform better in life. If you show it now, it will just inspire them to vote on account of sympathy

Gajji knows by sheer talent he cant create conpetition for anwesha/aishwarya. Thats why he has created AVs for other kids.
But then also I like the format of SVOI as it gives us a hope, atleast the judges final verdict will help to stop the elimination of good contestant.
No hard feelings but i feel kids these days just speak whatever that comes in their mind. They don't hide at all. Soniya is just 9 yrs and whatever she said in front of Ghulam Ali abt her not missing dad as he is in front is just a simple sincere thot that wud have crossed her mind. I feel only adults do the chalaki thing. Kids are kids. They are smart, sincere and speak their heart out. Already soniya was potrayed as a 'jhagralu" in one of the AV's and thats not fair. If soniya's mom is sick with a heart operation, obviously she'll feel it. Poor gal she comes with her brother for the show as dad is in Defence and Mom is sick. Most of the kids have at least one parent to support them mentally. By saying this i am not sympathizing with soniya, i can only pray for her mom, but i am just trying to say that she is still a little kid and i dont think she has an attitude problem.

None of us remains present during the programme shoots. We, however, get information in advance from various sources and share it with our friends on this blog as early as we lay our hands on any relevant information. Being present for the shoots would be too costly for the other two administrators as they do not reside in India. :)

For all non nepali people, no need of voting. dont waste ur money in voting. U cant match the voting machine of nepalise people. Its going to be repeat of Indian Idol 3. Pakriti giri has taken the place of prashant tamang.
PRAKRITI GIRI IS NO 1 again after giving such a such gr8 performance last week. with 3 ATIUTTAM. whereas other particpant (aish/soniya/anwesha/etc) just manage all SARVOTTAM.

Do you mean that Areeb was really weak this Friday (for the show that will be aired on 18th) or was it 'Last Friday and Saturday'?
If you are talking about the show that was recorded today, who were the contestants in scary land apart from Abeer and Areeb?
Abeer was expected to be out any episode. But he was a cute little boy. Now we'll be missing two cute little performers (Mansi and Abeer). Though i knew they will be out son i used to love listening to them. They still have that cute bachoo waala awaaz.
The competition is gonna become more interesting. So far the best singers are in competition. I just hope and pray that the sms voting don't mess up the whole talent line up. Prakriti sings good but can't compare with Anwesha or Aish or even Soniya. But she is getting lot of votes. I liked Jayant's few performances not all. Probably Vyom might be eliminated next episode. I feel Areeb is better than Vyom. His problem is his voice breaks. Looks like its gonna be only girls in the finals. :)

One thing that you can do (I dunno if its possible) is add a link to the online voting site (not just Indya.com but the exact voting page link) so that people who visit this site can go and vote for contestants.
Anwesha will surely need our votes to finally become the Chotti Ustaad!!!!
I think Aish should be fine cause she comes from Ahmedabad and the people from Gujarat are pretty savvy and rich at the same time!!!

My primary concern was NOT the contestants who were in scary land but more to understand if Areeb sang bad even when Abeer was eliminated. Here's why my question is important and this is something which seems like a misnomer amongst bloggers here.
Public voting or earlier performance only affects a contestant upto his trip to scary land. Its judges who decide the final elimination and thus your suggestion of Areeb being the 'weakest link on Friday' does not make much sense cause the performance of Friday really does not matter. What is to be seen is if the judges favored him even though he sang worse than Abeer!
Hope this also clears the confusion in other people's mind that the elimnation in this SVOI will be random or based entirely on public voting. (Please read my earlier post for that analysis)

You're dead on about Aish and Anwesha getting into the final four. I am still not able to convince myself if they will be the finalists though cause if the number of participants going to scary land reduces to two, public voting will decide the final two (IMHO).

Areeb never impressed me from the first day, so his elimination is totally justified. He had a hoarse voice, I think innocent child was suffering from some throat infection.Anyways lets hope the best child wins.

Ishmeet Singh, who was crowned Star Voice of India, released his first Gurbani album today at Dukh Niwaran Saheb Gurdwara in the city of Ludhiana.
Ishmeet said he felt good that his first album on Gurbani was being released on Guru Gobind Singh’s birth anniversary. Notably, the lad was crowned “Voice of India” at the grand finale on November 24, 2007, which also happened to be the 538th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev.
Titled “Satguru Tumre Kaaj Saware” and launched by BIG Music and Home Entertainment, the album features six shabads that include Satguru tumhare kaaj saware, Mitar pyare nu, Ram japo ji and Ek noor. The organisers said Ishmeet will also perform at the 1,000 days countdown opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on January 6, 2008 to be held in New Delhi.
Big Music and Home Entertainment CEO Kulmeet Makkar said: “A pop and dance album with Ishmeet is in the offing. We have signed top 10 artistes of Voice Of India. It is important to understand the growth area of an artist. At the same time we have to keep market demand in mind. This is the first recorded soundtrack album by Ishmeet. And a lot of hard work has gone behind it.”
Ishmeet will also go on a world tour beginning February 2008.

Kalyani was talking about Areeb's performance on 11th and 12th. Both were below par. Abeer on the other hand was in fairyland (11th Jan) so, there is no question of Areeb being preferred over Abeer on that friday. Abeer did not sing last friday (11th Jan) as he was not in scary land.
We don't know who else were in scaryland when Abeer's going to be eliminated on 18th Jan. Let it be a suspense, however it is not difficult to put that information as well.

I had seen in the final days leading upto SVOI crowning ceremony, Ishmeet had mentioned at a Gurudwara that he will definitely release a Gurubani album before any other. He was true to his word.
I would really love to lay my hands on the shabads. I feel really nostalgic everytime I hear a shabad (I hear one when I listen to Rang De Basanti songs) It reminds me of Sunday morning back home when there was a half hour of shabad telecast every sunday. I still remember its title shabad...Koi bole raam raam, koi khudaye, koi sevey gosaiyaan, koi allahye....
I also think that Ishmeet's soulful voice will do justice to devotional kind of singing and he might not have too much talent but one thing he is blessed with is knowing the type of songs that suit his voice the best.

Which brings me to a really interesting point, if Chhote Ustaad had a devotional songs round I would love Anwesha to sing 'Allah tero naam...' from the movie Hum Dono and sung by Lataji.

Even Jagjit Singh has turned to devotional music. I have heard just 2 of his devotional songs
One was "Shri Ram", the other one is "Satnam Shri Waheguru". Both were very melodious touching one's soul.
Singing devotional songs has 2 benifits for the singers:-
First, it purifies their soul.
Second, monetary returns are also quite good.
In Punjab the singers singing devotional songs have crossed even the religous barriers:-
Like Master Salim- a Punjabi folk singer sings Mata Ki Bheten.
Lakhbir singh Lakha sings Mata ki Bhenten.
Sardool Sikander - a muslim has sung Shabads.
Hans Raj Hans has sung Shabads.
Similarly many Pakistani Punjabi artists sing Shabads.
So Punjab singers are perfect example of communal harmony.

I think there's no set rule for a devotional song, its the tone that defines it. In the movie Seema, Balraj Sahni sings this song in an orphanage/destitute home in front of kids and it can be argued that the 'individual' he's talking about is the god almighty. BTW, the song does feature a statue of god that everyone is sitting in front of, so by your definition too it is devotional.

I have a suggestion for Gajji. He should start a reality music show featuring all the champions of reality shows starting from Abhijeet Sawant - the first Indian idol to Ishmeet Singh- the last man to win a music reality show.
The show will be an instant hit.
One judge of each show should be selected in the panel of judges.
Eg.- Ismail Darbar, Anu Malik, Jatin Pandit & Sonu Nigam.

Ishmeet does not need certificate from you to prove that he is the best. Ishmeet has an original soft voice where as your Harshit is a mere copy-cat. In the finals this fact was proved. Even Madhuri Dixit publicly stated Ishmeet was better.

Looks like you are relatively new to this blog and hence are not aware of the affinity Jatin has for Ishmeet. Its a futile discussion to get into, if you notice, all of us have steered clear of it :) We all have our preferences and should respect others which goes true for Jatin too.
Anyways, out of my 'holier-than-thou' mode...when I started the thread about devotional songs, it was just an attempt to get people's views on a different genre of music. Its notable how Rehman has 3 compositions in my top ten even though its an all time list. Also ARR's tunes are not run-of-the mill stuff, they are quite different.
I also mentioned that I would buy Ismeet's shabad CDs cause I loved shabads and not because of Ishmeet so much.
I had originally created a top-ten list of hindi film music songs so no Subbulakshmi or Anup Jalota etc figured in it.
Hope this gives you some perspective about this thread on Devotional songs.

I went back home last night and watched Anwesha's performance in earlier episodes. She sang Chanda Re in that episode. Pritam's comments to her were, "thoda versatility dikhao" and here's what she does after that. She sings
1. Daiyya re main kahaan aa phansi
2. Maiyya Maiyya
3. Ami je tomar and
4. Dere Dere
So after consistently singing songs sung by Lataji, she sings a very difficult song by Asha, another super super difficult item number composed by Rehman, another song sung by Shreya which Pritam admitted they had recorded in multiple sessions and finally a Shubha Mudgal song. I'm sure Pritam or anyone else has NO doubts on her versatility, range, talent and consistency now!
I will pray to god that Anwesha ends up winning this show cause she is not only the best but best by a mile and a half!
I am not sure if I am convinced about Soniya's singing abilities. So far she has sung:
1. Channa ve Channa (Gayatri Ganjawala)
2. Lambi Judai (Reshma)
3. Taarey hain barati (Jaspinder Narula)
4. Piya re piya re (Nusrat)
5. Baras ja badal (Sunidhi)
She needs to come out of her comfort zone and sing an Asha and a Lata for me to consider her a force to reckon with. Also, I think she's too 'chalak' for being a 9 year old.

regarding soniya, till now in 2 of her episode she got less than sarvottam. (in one of them she got 2 sarvottam & 1 atiuttam) Aaj ki raat was her worst performance. For th last 3 week she is getting sarvottam only.
Her song selection, suits her voice. as you said, she should try something different. But I really doubt if she will do it.

i didnt want to bring this up...after gaj showed the AV questioning soniyas age....but after reading the few comments above..i felt i should.
there r lots of factors which play a major role abt attaining the so called maturity in a child. its a fact that girls mature earlier than boys...and a equilibrium is reached to a great extent only in their twenties..or after they cross their puberty!!!
there have been documented cases where girls ahve attained menarche by 7 yrs... and if u see the general pattern , girls attaining menarche nowadays is much earlier..like 9-10yrs..wen it was 13-14 yrs a couple of decades ago..!!abt the maturity of her voice...yes, again lot of factors, main being genetic...
sorry.this was not supposed to b a lecture on science...i ahve been reading in other sites too abt her age, maturity etc...i basically think , what was written above was not in very good taste....esp wen we dont know anything abt a persons background..or more!!!

Wonderful comment Kalyani. I also feel we shud not be too judgmental about Soniya. Some kids tend to look more matured and chalaki and blah blah even at an early age. In fact we don't know what she would have gone thru to make her look matured. The AV showing Soniya's age was very inappropriate. Whatever it is she is a nice and bold girl, at least she doesn't beg for sympathy. She uses her talent to get votes, not sympathy.
Chotta Bhalu "Mansi" used to look like a small baccho even though she was 10 yrs. Thats how kids are. All depends on upbringing and situations.
I don't see anything wrong for soniya to choose a song that suits her voice. Anyway Ghulam Ali also told her that her voice is "Alakai". And i feel she has unique voice.

Personally I am did not like the performance of Sumitra.
Lots of people remember mauli just because of her maiya maiya performance.
For me both the kids performed better compared to their age. But I am unable to decide who was the better one.

I was the one who called Soniya a chalak and it has nothing to do with the a/v that Gajji had played. I will give you instances which irked me. This becomes especially important when out two top contestants are the most soft-spoken and simple kids.
1. Her vote appeals are just over the top, especially the way she tries to copy what Aish said about voting for her as well as all the other contestants, even though I hardly see that spirit in her. I would like people to be honest, as Abeer was when he said, 'mujhey vote kijiye, baaki logo ko nahin'
2. In the aaj ki raat episode when she sang really average and Shreya asked her, oopar kay notes kyoon nahin lag rahein hain? she was like 'gala kharab ho gaya' and Shreya retorted by saying that 'episode say pehle to nahin thha'. Basically she did not have to lie to hide one bad performance.
3. In the Ghulam Ali episode she compared Ghulam Ali to her dad (main apne papa ko to miss karti hoon lekin aaj nahin kar rahi hoon kyoonki Ghulam Ali jee yahaan hain!!!!!)
Now where did that come from?
I have a problem when people try and use other means to garner sympathy or favors from judges and junta. That is why I have extra respect for singers like Aish and Anwesha who are doing it just on the basis of their talent and nothing else. No audio visuals, no over-the-top vote appeals, no gimmicks just pure singing.
My problem is not that much with age but with the attitude. She's a good singer, someone who can carve a niche for herself later in life but she's highly competitive too and knows that this is her chance and wants to grab it with both hands. She's not doing anything wrong but then I'm not wrong either if I do not subscribe to her various antics. Its a behavior I would never condone.

In life who does not have problem. Everyone has. something or other.
But do we watch movies, as sharukh has more problem than salman. or listen to songs of sonu as he has more problem than kailash kher. We watch/listen whosoever gives better performance.
Then why we vote for the person who has more problem. Show the AV of complete one hour (not just few min) for the person who wins the title about his problem n difficulties. It will inspire others to perform better in life. If you show it now, it will just inspire them to vote on account of sympathy
Jayant- Diminishing eye sight (genuine case, but talent is more hyped)
Vyom- family problem
Gitasri- father is against signing
Soniya- mother illness
Pakriti-dont know hindi!!! (she n anwesha both are from bengal only. One nepali other bengali)

I love those AVs which describes kids interest, talent etc
Areeb- biking
Jayant- playing football
anwesha- detective

I am not sure whether we have sympathy AV for anwesha or aishwarya
Gajji knows by sheer talent he cant create conpetition for anwesha/aishwarya. Thats why he has created AVs for other kids.
But then also I like the format of SVOI as it gives us a hope, atleast the judges final verdict will help to stop the elimination of good contestant.

No hard feelings but i feel kids these days just speak whatever that comes in their mind. They don't hide at all. Soniya is just 9 yrs and whatever she said in front of Ghulam Ali abt her not missing dad as he is in front is just a simple sincere thot that wud have crossed her mind. I feel only adults do the chalaki thing. Kids are kids. They are smart, sincere and speak their heart out. Already soniya was potrayed as a 'jhagralu" in one of the AV's and thats not fair. If soniya's mom is sick with a heart operation, obviously she'll feel it. Poor gal she comes with her brother for the show as dad is in Defence and Mom is sick. Most of the kids have at least one parent to support them mentally. By saying this i am not sympathizing with soniya, i can only pray for her mom, but i am just trying to say that she is still a little kid and i dont think she has an attitude problem.

None of us remains present during the programme shoots. We, however, get information in advance from various sources and share it with our friends on this blog as early as we lay our hands on any relevant information. Being present for the shoots would be too costly for the other two administrators as they do not reside in India. :)

change in scaryland format- there will be 3 participant instead of 4. If it goes like this then we may find they may reduce it to 2.
So HARD, your equation that anwesha or aish wont be kicked out, is doubtful. We may find anwesha & aish in bottom 2 and then judges have to choose between one of them.

Anwesha & Vyom starts with duet CHUP CHUP KE (Bunty aur Bubli). Vyom the great in fairyland. WORST singer, ANWESH!!! in scaryland.
I like the spirit in her. She says she is happy to perform again.
I think she has to be more careful in selecting her song. select the popular ones only. have to be CHAALAK in this competition age.
Aish n Jayant sang Aakhon ki gusthakiyan. Both are safe.
Just listen to performance of Jayant & comment.

For all non nepali people, no need of voting. dont waste ur money in voting. U cant match the voting machine of nepalise people. Its going to be repeat of Indian Idol 3. Pakriti giri has taken the place of prashant tamang.
PRAKRITI GIRI IS NO 1 again after giving such a such gr8 performance last week. with 3 ATIUTTAM. whereas other particpant (aish/soniya/anwesha/etc) just manage all SARVOTTAM.
Just listen to her performance today.
